Optoelectronic Industry and Technology Development Association (OITDA)
The Optoelectronic Industry and Technology Development Association (OITDA) was established in July 1980 in order to promote the comprehensive development of the optoelectronic industry and technology, one of today’s leading-edge technologies. Optoelectronic industry and technology are expected to play the role of a propellant in the realization and further development of a society based on advanced information networks. In response to the strong needs of the times, OITDA is actively and efficiently operating based on the following four basic policies. Their intent is to provide strong support to the optoelectronic industry and technology.
-
Promotion of Technical Development
Optoelectronic technology is a key technology for achieving continued economic growth in Japan and for realizing high living conditions nationally. OITDA is strongly promoting the accelerating of the technical development in industry, government, and academia.
Standardization Promotion
It is very important for the fruits of technical development to spread smoothly to both makers and users. OITDA is making every effort to promote timely standardization.OITDA is also contributing to the establishment of international standards.
Creation of New Businesses
Most existing industries have entered the phase of maturity, and their production bases are being shifted overseas. New businesses must be created to increase employment. OITDA provides strong support to venture businesses and to small-to-mediumsized businesses in the field of optoelectronics technology.
International Exchange Cooperation
Extensive cooperation, including provision of information etc., related to Japan’s optoelectronic industry and optoelectronic technology is required by various countries. OITDA also promotes international exchanges with related organizations overseas.
